The Toronto Raptors exerted total control in their dominant 140-111 win over the Washington Wizards (13-28). The victory allows them to hold onto fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Raptors have been devastatingly effective since Pascal Siakam, Marc Gasol, and Norman Powell have returned from injury. The players have filled holes that were desperately missed in their absence on both sides of the ball. Powell and Gasol had exceptional production this contest. With 7 scorers in double figures, the Wizards had no answers for the Raptors balanced attack.

Top Performing Raptors

Norman Powell had an inspired performance. Producing a game-high 28 points on (59%) 10/17 shooting gave Powell his 3rd straight 20 point performance . His offensive production as of late has been stellar and most impressively it is coming off the bench. Before his injury Powell was putting up phenomenal numbers exclusively as a starter. Seeing this translate to the bench only further expands the dynamic nature of the Raptors’ offence. Nick Nurse will have a very good problem to solve when Fred VanVleet returns to the rotation.

Marc Gasol had his own offensive showcase against the Wizards. His career-high 6 made three point attempts were a lion’s share of his season-high 20 points. Gasol’s elite shooting and play-making from the top of the key have allowed Serge Ibaka to play beside him in the starting unit. Serge has always been a starting caliber centre who has taken a bench roll for the betterment of the team. Both centres have expanded their games to the point where they are able to play cooperatively together.
